Angelic Healing Ritual

Items needed: seven candles (one of each color: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet), a poppet stuffed with healing herbs (appropriate runes or other markings already applied), a circle of yellow cloth, a long green ribbon, and anointing oil.

Everyone face East, starting with the person closest to the Eastern altar do the
qabalisitic cross. Each person should perform it, going in a clockwise manner.

To perform the qabalistic cross:

Touch your forehead and say ATEH (thou art).
Touch your genitals and say MALKUTH (the Kingdom).
Touch your left shoulder and say VE-GEBURAH (and the Power).
Touch your right shoulder and say VE GEDULAH (and the Glory).
Clasp your hands in front of you and say LE-OLAM (forever).
Then, vibrate the mantra AUM

Face West then say:

“Before me stands Raphael (Rah-fay-EL)
Behind me, Gabriel (Gahb-ray-EL)
At my left hand, Michael (Mee-chai-EL)
At my right hand Uriel (Ohr-ree-EL)
I am balanced in the center of myself,
I am purified.”

_______________ light the Eastern Candle and say:

“Hail, Angel of the East,
Power of Air!
We invoke you and call you,
Gabriel, Rising Sun,
Come and attend our Circle.
Send forth your winds
Be here now.
Hail and Welcome!”

_______________ light the Southern Candle and say:

“Hail, Angel of the South,
Power of Fire!
We invoke you and call you,
Michael, Spark of life,
Come and attend our Circle.
Send forth your flame
Be here now.
Hail and Welcome!”

_______________ light the Western Candle and say:

“Hail, Angel of the West,
Power of Water!
We invoke you and call you,
Raphael, Evening Star,
Come and attend our Circle.
Send forth your healing waters
Be here now.
Hail and Welcome!”

_______________ light the Northern Candle and say:

“Hail, Angel of the North,
Power of Earth!
We invoke you and call you,
Uriel, Northern Star,
Come and attend our Circle.
Send forth your strength

_______________ beginning in the East trace the circle, complete it above and below you then say:

“As above, so below.
Around us,
Now within us
Shines the seven-rayed star.
We are between the worlds
Beyond the bounds of time,

The Circle is cast.”

Light the central candle and say:

“The fire is lit, the ritual has begun.”

In the middle of the central altar should be a dish filled with pure white salt. The dish
needs to be large enough to hold 7 upright candles, one of each: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and purple.

“These are the Archangels, the heads of the Angelic Hosts
We invoke and call them here this evening
To help us in our healing art.
(Lighting Red candle): Michael, the Angelic Sun Lord
(Lighting Orange candle): Gabriel, the Radiant Moon
(Lighting Yellow candle): Haniel, the Power of Nature, the Fae Lord
(Lighting Green candle): Raphael, the Healer
(Lighting Blue candle): Sachiel, the Great Benevolence
(Lighting Indigo candle): Tzadiel, the Great Teacher
(Lighting Violet candle): Uriel, the Peace Lord
We are surrounded by theses magical beings
Angels of ineffable light, pure spirits of beauty.”

“Tonight we have gathered to send healing to two women. To Ruth; to help her heal from her recent ordeal and to help ensure that she doesn’t needlessly suffer any more seizures. To Meiko; to fill her body with purification in the hopes that her tumors are benign and to help repair the damage to her liver. To do this, we invoke the great kami, the angels, and our spirit guides – tanuki and kitsune. We invite any deific presences that wishes to lend Their aid so long as it is for the greater good with harm to none."

_____________ take the poppet, sprinkle it with salt water and say:

“Blessed be thou, creature made by art. By art made, by art changed. Thou art not cloth but flesh and blood and I name thee Ruth. Thou art she, between the worlds and in all worlds. So mote it be."

_______________ call upon Raphael by saying:

“Raphael,
We understand it is Thy Nature to
administer all healing energies,
manifesting life more abundantly
in all aspects of creation.
Raphael,
We beseech Thee to assist us this night
to become True Healers.
Raphael,
We beseech Thee to send Thy Angelic Host,
Thy Great Kings, Melechim,
To do Thy Work within us, through us and around about us.
Raphael,
Holy! Holy! Holy! We continually give Thee thanks and praise!”

_________________, while holding the poppet, say:

“Raphael, we humbly ask of Thee,
That all the Powers of the Universe to pour forth
Their Blessings upon Ruth,
Motivated by pure joy.
We further ask that Ruth freely receive and
joyfully accept all these blessings
So that she may be healed.”

Pass the poppet to the right, that person takes it and says:

“Hear our pleas
for the well being of Ruth.
Heal her.
She is in your hands, angels of healing."

Pass the poppet to the right, that person takes it and says:

"Raphael,
In the sphere of Tifareth,
Inspire our prayers for Ruth.
For her to be healthy,
both physically and spiritually.
May we know that to love life, we must love ourselves."

Pass the poppet to the right, that person takes it and says:

"Gathered angels,
Divine presences,
Spirit guides,
Kitsune,
Tanuki,
Ruth has shown us how to be strong
In the face of fear,
focused in the face of pain.
Ruth is being offered to you,
now help us to help her
be healthy and whole.

Everyone concentrate on filling the poppet with healing energies, see the poppet
‘glowing’.

That a true healing may begin.

(anoint the forehead of the poppet with oil)
May your heart be strong
(anoint the center of the chest on the poppet)
May your body recuperate from the stresses it has borne

_______________ wrap the poppet in a circle of yellow cloth (to represent the
sephirah of Tifareth) and tie it together with a long green ribbon (to represent healing).

Everyone say together:

“Cords of remedy,

Healing be bound,
The spell is sealed
With harm to none
And for the greater good of all,
As we do will,
So mote it be.”

“Meiko,
Honored Crone of my mother line,
Illness stalks you; it tries to take root in your body,
With the combined help of the angels

Although the impure and polluted appears

around the candle and say:

“Meiko, I grant you the healing of Earth,
Stone allows us to endure change and transition
And give confidence to our changing.
Like the divine that never dies.
Earth has a form that is changeless,
Yet ever changing.
Allow this form to offer you the power of renewal.
By the divine within the cosmos and the divine within us,
Be purified and restored to your potential.”

_________________ sprinkle the candle with water then cup your hands around the
candle and say:

“Meiko, I grant you the healing of water,
In the flow of the falls, all impurity is removed and washed away,
The flow of life carries away those things that we neither need nor want.
Water is the flow that never ceases, the divine that never dies
The flow is changeless, yet ever changing,
Allow the flow to offer you the power of renewal.
By the divine within the cosmos and the divine within us,
Be purified and restored to your potential.”

______________ hold your hand for a moment above the flame, then cup your hands around the candle and say:

“Meiko, I grant you the healing of fire,
In the heat of fire all impurities are purged by
The cleansing flame that consumes all that you neither
need nor want.
Like the divine that never dies
The spark is changeless, yet ever changing,
Allow the spark to offer you the power of renewal.
By the divine within the cosmos and the divine within us,
Be purified and restored to your potential.”

candle and say:

“Meiko, I grant you the healing of wind,
Wind that is unseen can shift a desert,
It reminds us of how to seek the truth directly and decisively
With the power of the divine that never dies
The wind is changeless, yet ever changing,
Allow the wind to offer you the power of renewal.
By the divine within the cosmos and the divine within us,
Be purified and restored to your potential.”

“Purified, you are free
Purified, your eyes are opened to beauty and glory of nature
Purified, your ears can hear the harmony of the spheres even amid the discord of life,
Purified, your sense of fragrance and spirituality is heightened

Purified, your hands can touch the world in its strength and delicacy

Phaedra's Notes:

The original ritual was to be just for Mikee's mama, and I wrote it to be very angelic in nature due to her religious beliefs. I have also been wanting to do a ritual that invokes angelic prescenses to see how well I work with them. Because of Lucifer I assumed that I would either have a very positive or a very negative reaction with them. Anyway, when I found out about Meiko my first idea was to do 2 poppet rituals, but then I decided that for her a more Shinto approach would work better.

With that said, I didn't really take into account how draining doing what amounted to two rituals would be. If I had to do it over, I would probably break this up into two seperate rituals to be done over several days. I was wiped out for almost three days after doing this ritual, I really exhausted myself but in the end I feel that it was worth it. It gave me a very definite feeling that I had done something and that it would be successful.

For Ruth, Raphael was chosen because he is a healer by nature and because he is Dan's patron. I figured that even if I didn't have such a good relationship with angels Raphael would lend his aid if Dan was there. As it turned out that was a good idea on my part as I wasn't as comfortable with the angels as I thought I would be. I felt very edgy while the quarters were being called and I had a hard time creating the Circle. =( It's probably a good thing that I didn't invoke any of the quarters as the only one who felt at all 'welcoming' to me was Uriel. Michael (the archangel) and I have a 'truce' of sorts, Gabriel and I have never had a strong connection, and Raphael seems to be an enveloping prescence that accepts everyone.

I was surprised realize that I had very little part in the ritual, I was mainly there in a 'support' role until we got to the section for my grandmother. I spent a good portion of my time kneeling, I just felt the need to be lower (perhaps an unconscious subordinace in order to 'beg' for healing for Meiko). While I felt uncomfortable with the more overly angelic parts of earlier I felt right at home with the Shinto parts of it. It was like I slipped into my element. I think part of my problem was that I choose to begin with too many angels. I should have kept my regular Circle casting and quarter calls and worked only with Raphael (perhaps calling on Gabriel and Michael for 'oomph'). I think I know too many people who work with angels with patrons.

As far as success wise, both Mikee's mother and my grandmother are doing well as of this update (6/05) and the ritual was originally performed in Dec. 2004. My grandmother has had a few new medical problems come to light but Ruth has been doing well.
