You may notice that I used a different invocation for this ritual, I was trying out a theory of working with just my patrons. It actually worked really well, but I never got any further than this with it. It felt strange abandoning my normal invocation but it also felt kind of nice to just pull my Patrons in around me and have them know that they were the only ones invited to this party.
I added a small money spell into this, I figured that since Beltane was about fertility and all I should tap into it. When I performed this we were in fairly dire financial straits, I was at the end of my rope with creative financing and we desperatly needed an influx of money. We could barely afford our rent, even with both of us working full times. My husband recieved an art job that earned us a large chunk of money, then he got promoted, and then we got back our apartment deposit. This all happened over a nine month period, so the spell had a nice long lasting effect.
I added an almost unnoticeable nod to the Heika, the part about Samhain and the dark half of the year.
I honestly don't know if I was aware that I was near the end of my time doing completely Wiccan style rituals, but I was very happy with the simplicity and energy that this Sabbat raised. I felt like I had to 'get back on the horse' as it was because this was the first ritual I did after Daryoon-heika died. You have to understand, he may have been just a cat, but he was terribly important to me. I really kind of adopted him as a child, not just a pet. I had to seriously force myself to perform any kind of ceremony because he passed away just after my Samhain sabbat. This was my way of trying to get over that block. It helped, but I don't think it really eased my fears.
