Dark Moon Quarter Call

Purify

Light the green candle and say:

“Guardian of the Watchtower of the North, Tamahome,
Ancient one of stone
Light my path with strength and wisdom
Be my witness and shield
As I walk in the darkness.”

Sprinkle with salt water three times and say:

“With salt and water, I purify the North.”

Light the blue candle and say:

“Guardian of the Watchtower of the West, Hotohori,
Ancient one of the waves
Light my path with strength and wisdom
Be my witness and shield
As I walk in the darkness.”

Sprinkle with salt water three times and say:

“With salt and water, I purify the West.”

Light the red candle and say:

“Guardian of the Watchtower of the South, Tasuki,
Ancient one of flames
Light my path with strength and wisdom
Be my witness and shield
As I walk in the darkness.”

Sprinkle with salt water three times and say:

“With salt and water, I purify the South.”

Light the blue candle and say:

“Guardian of the Watchtower of the East, Chichiri,
Ancient one of wind
Light my path with strength and wisdom
Be my witness and shield
As I walk in the darkness.”

Sprinkle with salt water three times and say:

“With salt and water, I purify the East.”

Open arms and say:

“I am between the worlds
In the darkness
Where life and death
Meet and make one.”

Light the center candle and say:

“The fire is lit,
The ritual has begun
God and Goddess blessings.”

Ring bell three times.

Phaedra's Notes:

This is fairly similar to my normal Quarter Calling but I don't ask them to help draw the boundary of the Circle and they are invoked to help guide me during this time. Also, no dragons because this was before I was trained to work with them.

There really isn't much to say... I like it because I am still creating an area of sacred space. I don't know why Circle isn't cast other than this is 'traditionally' a time of no magic. I was probably introduced to the idea from reading Starhawk or Cunningham, but I don't remember if there was a detailed explanation or not. I've kind of fallen out of the habit of doing dark moon esbats, I tend to gravitate to doing full moon ones instead.
