Elemental Binding Spell

Items needed: a stone, a piece of dark fabric, a brush and ink, a rune representing the person, 4 ribbons in elemental colors, something to store the stone in when done.

____________ place the stone on your altar, draw a banishing
pentagram over it with your athame, and say:

"Blessings be upon you, O creature of Art. I do exorcise you of all other intent, that you devoted only our purpose."

____________ draw an invoking pentagram over the stone, lay your right over it and
say:

"O blessed Inari, we ask You to bless and consecrate the creature of Art as a magickal instrument in Your service and ours; that it may obtain through You the necessary virtue, that it may serve for a good use and end."

______________ pass the stone through the incense smoke and say:

"I consecrate you through Air, by Chichiri and Sairys."

______________ pass the stone through the southern candle flame and say:

"I consecrate you through Fire, by Tasuki and Fafnir."

______________ sprinkle water on the stone and say:

"I consecrate you through Water, by Hotohori and Naelyon."

______________ sprinkle some salt on the stone and say:

"I consecrate you through Earth, by Tamahome and Grael."

____________ paint the rune on the stone, give the ink enough time to dry.

During this time push all of your thoughts about the person into the stone, allowing
them to leave you so you can continue with pure intent.

______________ touch the stone with athame and say:

"I conjure you, O stone, by the powers of Inari and Lucifer, by the virtues of air, fire, water, and earth; that now and henceforth you shall be known as _______________ in the realms of the timeless, between the worlds and in all worlds. When we touch you, we touch ______________, when we speak the soul of ______________ will hear our voices. As we do will so mote it be."

______________ wrap the stone in fabric, take the ribbon representing air and wrap it around the bundle saying:

"Powers of Air, Chichiri and Sairys, we call upon you to bind this creature with purest energy, that none may escape save the soul's innermost truth."

Tie the ends of the of the ribbon into a knot and say:

"O ______________, you are bound by the virtue of Air."

____________ wrap the ribbon representing fire around the bundle and say:

"Powers of Fire, Tasuki and Fafnir, we call upon you to bind this creature with purest passion, that none may escape save the soul's highest inspiration."

Tie the ends into a knot and say:

"O ______________, you are bound by the energy of Fire."

____________ wrap the ribbon representing water around the bundle and say:

"Powers of Water, Hotohori and Naelyon, we call upon you to bind this creature with pure emotions, that none may escape save the soul's deepest love."

Tie the ends into a knot and say:

"O ______________, you are bound by the tides of Water."

____________ wrap the ribbon representing earth around the bundle and say:

"Powers of earth, Tamahome and Grael, we call upon you to bind this creature with pure bonds, that none may escape save the soul's true Path."

Tie the ends into a knot and say:

"O ______________, you are bound by the strength of Earth."

______________ carry the bundle around the Circle, then say:

"Let all the powers in this sacred Circle bear witness that ______________ is purified and bound by the powers of air, of fire, of water, of earth; by the powers of the Dragons assembled, and in the names of the Inari and Lucifer, performed in Their service. Thus we have done, and thus it is."

______________ place the stone in a box or bag, saying:

"Here you shall remain, until we call upon you again."

Put the stone away where it won't be disturbed.

______________ bless the cakes with:

"Shining God, we offer these cakes in Your honor, As we eat them, fill us with the Power of Your spirit."

______________ bless the chalice with:

"Implacable Crone, we offer this wine in Your honor, As we drink it, fill us with the nectar of Your love."

Phaedra's Notes:

I generally don't condone binding unless it is for an extreme reason, and even then I like to try to find other avenues before binding. Out of all the biding spells I've seen I like this one the best because it calls out to the other person's Higher Self to become more involved in that person's decision making, hopefully leading hir down a better path.

I have performed this several times, once to help stop terrorism (in that case the stone was named terrorism and we also painted several runes on it), once to help protect a friend's boyfriend, and once to protect me. All three times an amazing amount of power was raised and the ritual was highly charged.

Recently, I have offered the use of this ritual to several people to perform on their own, and all of them have had successful results from it. I am starting to believe that there is something in how this spell is constructed that has the ability to really speak to the Higher Self of the person performing the spell. Because of this it is highly effective.

I have never unbound any of the three stones (ie - people) since the original spell was finished. If it was necessary I would probably do so by reversing it in a manner similar to my unbinding for a poppet. One day I'll have to come up with the unbinding for this. ;)

The original author is unknown to me, but like all things that fall into my hands I have changed it in many tiny ways. First was the addition of my Patrons, then my Elemental Kings, and finally the most recent addition is the Dragons. I have also altered the speech in it a bit as it was orignally written in a more stilted manner.
