Setting Maia Free Ritual

Items needed: two candles, one black one white; bind rune with a pouch, elemental bound poppet, braided cords, cauldron, mirror, items of XXXX's to be burnt, Dragons Blood ink, a flower, a piece of parchment paper, and a pen of art.

Purify selves and cast Circle.

________________ invoke Goddess with:

"Gracious Mother, who is also the implacable crone, we know that by whatever names we call Thee - _____________ - we know that You hear us. Be with us this night as we remove the bonds and grief that have been unfairly placed upon Your daughter. Hear our only wish tonight - from the heavens to our side, descend. Hail and Welcome!”

________________ invoke God with:

“Stellar Lord, God of all that is light and dark, we know that by whatever names we call Thee - _____________ - we know that You hear us. Be with us this evening as we return what rightly belongs to another, that which is no longer needed. Hear our only wish tonight - from the heavens to our side, descend. Hail and Welcome.”

Phaedra says:

“At any point during this ritual, my energy, my power, my spirit is there for Maia to use. You may take what you need in order to accomplish all the goals we have for this evening. I offer this freely, without coercion, as much or as little as is necessary. So mote it be.”

_________________ says while holding the bind rune:

“This rune is meant to protect those of the __________ family from any backlash that may occur. They are innocent of his deeds and we do not wish for them to be caught in any of the return of energy to XXXX just because they are associated to him by blood. In the name of Lucifer, the Star of Morning, as we do will, so mote it be.”

_________________ write out each of the family members names (first and last) using the pen of art and dragons blood ink. When finished place the paper of names and the bindrune in the pouch and tie it shut using three knots.

Say together:

“You are safe, you are protected. None of XXXXs actions will harm you as they are returned. May the pain he causes others not harm you.”

Place the pouch on the central altar, Maia can decide what to do with it after the
ritual.

________________ says:

“Many months ago, XXXX came to us, asking for help, asking to be free from a vengeful spirit that plagued him. Working together we were able to push back the succubus until she no longer had any hold over him. Time and forgetfulness wore through our binding and it was renewed. Now, we remove our protection from him.”

Phaedra says:

“I, Phaedra, before my patrons, do hereby remove my protection. May XXXX walk alone with the succubus he summoned. May he find his own way of removing her from his life, if that is his true wish. Succubus, Lilitu, daughter of the first woman; I free you of any binding I have created. As long as you do not bother me or mine, you are free to do as you will. So mote it be.”

Maia says:

“I, Maia Quirinus, do hereby remove any protection. Lilitu, daughter of Lilith, you are free to follow the man you have chosen. No longer will I stand in your way, you may do as you will so long as it does not involve either myself of anyone I care for. So mote it be.”

Say together:

“We free you, we free you, we free you. The binding is undone and you may walk unfettered again.”

Remove the elemental binding from RXXXX. Maia may say whatever she feels is
necessary.

Phaedra says:

“That which we have done to aid him in the past has been dispelled. This is done for the greater good as there is no longer any reason for us to expend our energies to help him. Now is the time that we must make amends and return to him all that he has left in his wake. This is the time for Maia to rid herself of all that he has done to harm her, the guilt he made her feel for his actions, the shame he forced upon her, the unhappiness, the anguish. All of these belong him, not to her, and should be sent back.”

Maia says:

“This is a time of cleansing, a time of spiritual growth and renewal.
Nehellenia, goddess of the Wild Hunt, Queen of Hel,
you judge each soul against your feather-light wisdom.
May the scales of Justice be balanced.
They say Justice is blind,
but now I can see and no longer wish to be burdened
with that which does not belong to me.
Show me the true way, Lady of Justice.
Cleanse me of all impurities given by another.
Let my hands be freed from the bindings of another.
Guide my feet onto paths of growth and enlightenment
I move into the future free of that which I should not have.”

Take a few moments to meditate on what you wish to be rid of. Say what you are
feeling and thinking about XXXX and what was done to you (it doesn’t have to be loud, and I can leave to give you privacy if you need it) and as the words leave you, allow the greater portion of the pain and unrest leave you to be purified by the Dark Mother. (Part of this is to get out of your system all of the things you’d like to say to him that are or aren’t appropriate, it can be anything and you should say anything you want, be as angry or upset as you want. Really give him a piece of your mind! It will get it out of your system plus it will help to build up power and make the final part of this easier.) When done, call Phaedra back if she left.

Maia says:

“Nehellenia, help me to live my life to fullest
Sweep away all barriers built by XXXX
Crush the negativity and evil sent against me!
Sweep it back to the one who sent it,
May he have as much joy of it as I have.
I stand wrapped in your embrace, Goddess.
So mote it be!”

Time for Maia’s knot magick extravaganza!!

Phaedra says:

“The time of completion is close to hand. Now all that remains is to cut any ties that might still be remaining. Although this will be hardest part, removing any lingering traces to each other will insure that the pain and heartache has a chance to heal and not become something negative for you.”

Maia will go to the East altar to begin the cutting of the ties of her and XXXX to each
other. Phaedra will approach her at each altar when appropriate.

Maia says:

“Goddess, I greet you and offer the gift of this mirror in which you may see your face. I ask for help in cutting any ties that may still exist between my former partner and myself. I do not seek to harm or cause pain, only freedom from the ties that once bound us together. I look towards the East and in my memories I see a time when we were happy together. That time has past and I wish to cut it away so that we may both be free. The smoke of the incense rises and disperses into the air, in the same way I wish the past that we shared may be transmuted into the scented smoke and be taken far away from me. I may not be able to wish you well yet, XXXX, but eventually I hope to. I set us both free in the direction of the East and by the powers of Mars and Nehellenia.”

Phaedra says:

“By the powers of the East, in the names of Chichiri and Sairys, may the ties be cut.”
(Use athame and make cutting motions in front and behind Maia.)

Maia moves to the south (the cauldron should be here!) and says:

“As I have asked, so may it be this night. Now I turn my face to the South and I greet You, Goddess. I offer this gift of fire to please you and again I ask for help in freeing myself from the past. I ask that our future paths may be filled with light and warmth of heart. As I look in the direction of the South, I remember a time when we made love and the heat of passion came to life within us. Now that time is past and the fire has gone out, however I acknowledge that it may not have died completely yet. Give me the strength of will to not fan the coals into a fire again if the chance is presented. I want to light another fire, the fire of the cleansing flame and by its power the ashes of our forgotten love will be scattered to the winds to be taken where they will. I set us both free in the direction of the South and by the powers of Mars and Nehellenia.”

Set the items you have in the cauldron and set them on fire.

When that fire has died, Phaedra should light the black candle and say:

“By the powers of the South, in the names of Tasuki and Fafnir, may these ties be cut.”
(Use the athame like before.)

Maia moves to the West and says:

“As I have asked, so may it be this night. Now I turn my face to the West and I offer a shell for your delight. For the third time I ask for Your help in cutting the ties with my past. I ask that I may find love again in the days to come, and that some day XXXX might learn what true love is. I look to the West and remember a moment when we planned for the future, a future that will never manifest. I will scatter the pieces of my memories into the waters of the Goddess and wash away my tears. I set us both free in the direction of the West and by the powers of Mars and Nehellenia.”

Take a sip of the spirits and pour out a small libation into the shell that was the
Goddess’ gift.

Phaedra says:

“By the power of the West, in the names of Hotohori and Naelyon, may these ties be cut.”
(Again, athame, etc.)

Maia moves to the North and says:

“Now I turn my face to the North and I greet you, Goddess. I offer the chime of a bell for Your pleasure and for the last time I ask for Your help in leaving the past behind. I ask for both understanding and wisdom to be given to us both. In the days to come may I come to realize what I was to learn while with XXXX, and may he come to understand what havoc he has wrecked upon me. May we both use the wisdom learned to grow and become a better partner for the next person to enter our lives. As I look to the North I remember when we ate together the fruits of the earth and were happy. That time no longer applies to us and I will finally bury the flower of our love and cover it with the ashes left by my former lover. The earth will take both symbols back into herself and set us free in the direction of the North and with the powers of Mars and Nehellenia.”

Take the flower and place the bloom part in the cauldron with the ashes from the
South.

Phaedra says:

“By the powers of the North, in the names of Tamahome and Grael, may these ties be cut.”
(Final time with athame.)

Maia moves to the center altar and lights the white candle that is there. Then say:

“I realize that this can only work if I truly wish to let XXXX go and allow him and our time together to become a part of the past. I look to the Center as I center myself and give myself the strength and willpower to follow through on this cutting of ties. I call upon Myself, that I might do what is for my own higher good. One day I will be able to look back on this as a fond time and it will no longer be painful, only bittersweet. My ties with _(full name)_ are dispersed to the four direction. I am free, I belong only to myself. As I do will, so mote it be.”

If there is any other bit of magick to be done, do it now!

“Bright Lord of destruction that makes way for new growth,
we offer these cakes in Your honor.
As we eat them, fill us with the power of Your spirit.”

Eat the simple feast and open Circle! Then pat yourselves on the back for getting
through this marathon!!!!

Phaedra's Notes:

This ritual was created and performed in the Fall of 2002 to help Maia recover and heal from the break-up between her and her boyfriend of 2 years. It was especially hard for her since things were looking like they were gong to be getting married and settling down.

To be honest, at first I wasn't sure about him but once I saw how happy she was and how she really cared about him and their life together I did my best to warm up to him. I had just about made my peace with him being the one for her. Then this. Well, needless to say this came out of left field and we were both fairly shocked by it.

Once again his name has been XXXX'd out to protect the guilty. I had helped to ward off a succubus that he had called to himself and (to be honest) didn't really feel like protecting the little sh*t anymore. He called it, he should deal with it. Maia had also done an Elemental Binding to remove one of his ex-'s from his life because she was stalking him. I'm still thinking that the succubus was a big clue to take a 2 x 4 to his head and ask: "What the F**K were you thinking???"

Anyway, both of those were undone so that he could deal with it on his own since he knew sooo much. (Nasty Phaedra would like to point out that the little snot could 'dabble in the Dark Arts' and call up a succubi but couldn't get rid of it on his own.) Neither us felt that we really needed to expend excess energy to protect him anymore and neither one us will cry if it bites him in the butt. Maybe he'll learn a lesson.

We did do a small protection ritual for his family as his mom is ill and was approaching major surgery. We didn't want anything from him to spill over and cause any complications there.

The last section was particularly emotional, both Maia and I were in tears at parts of it... her because of what she was going through and me because it was killing me to see her like that. However, it worked well and Maia has been able to carry on with a clear mind and heart. Alot of her bitterness toward him was healed that night and while she isn't happy about the whole situation she is able to look back on it with fondness and is able to see how they enriched each other's lives.

The 'work magick now' part at the end was an area for me to do any extra magick that I felt was appropriate. I was a bad witch that night and did something that I have no regrets over. I'd really rather not say what, so lets just leave it at I was a baaaaad witch. Slap my wrists and call it even. *smirk*
