Justice Full Moon Esbat
Items needed: Cauldron, a small stone, some lotus oil, a dark blue candle, Death tarot card, Sun tarot card, Justice tarot card
Purify and Cast Circle.

You are magic and mystery, and I am Your Priest/ess. In You I see the qualities to which I aspire. You are my inspiration and my strength, my courage and my determination. Hear our only wish and descend to our Circle tonight, Hail and Welcome!”

______________ offer rice into the cauldron and say:
“Gentle Lord, Wise Lady, we who are Your children make this offering of grain. With the strength of the Earth may You always uphold and bless us.”
______________ offer some of the blessed water into the cauldron and say:
"From the depths of the Earth flow the Waters of Wisdom. Sacred Well, may your waters always flow within us.”
______________ offer a few drop of oil into the Cauldron and say:
“I give this oil to the Spirit of Fire . Let wisdom, love and power burn as a Sacred Fire within us.”
______________ tap the cauldron with your wand and say:
“From the depths to the heights spans the World Tree. Sacred Tree, grow strong and thrive in my soul and my spirit! The Fire, the Well, the Sacred Tree, flow and flame and grow in me! In Land, Sea and Sky, below and on high! Allow all three balance us in the world and between the worlds! So mote it be!

Going clockwise around the Circle, the person closest to the East turns to their right and blesses the person next to them. Use a small amount of the oil to anoint each area you are blessing. Say:
“Bless this person, Your Priest/ess, Lady and Lord,
(anoint forehead, between their eyes)
Blessed be their eyes that they may see the path You have created for them.
(Anoint their chin)
Blessed be their mouth that they may speak Your words with honor and conviction.
(Anoint the center of their chest)
Blessed be their heart that they may be open to Your ways and works.
(Anoint their belly)
Blessed be their creative center that they may bring forth joy, wisdom, and harmony.
(Anoint their feet)
Blessed be their feet that carry them on their path, through the good and the bad.”
Continue around the Circle until each person has been blessed.

Eidolon Moon's Notes:
This was originally created and performed in 2002 near the very end of the sniper attacks that were happening in the MD/VA area. The idea to perform a ritual to help capture the sniper was passed around on several email lists that I belong to and it sounded like a good idea. Like most of our rituals it was performed on a Sunday, however this is the first ritual that Michael joined us in.
He performed the actual esbat with us, but allowed Maia and I to 'take the reins' (so to speak) on the tarot part and simple lent us his energy. Both Maia and I felt that things went well although it had been a while since we had had anyone as new to the Craft as Mikee. To be honest, a good portion of my attention was on evening out the energy flow from the Michael since he tends to send it out in spurts. I think (hope) that this will balance out with time and practice!
I remember feeling very angry during the tarot spell section and I kept trying to NOT be angry, just intent on justice. I'm not sure if I was tapping into general feelings on the people perpetrating the acts or if I really had a deep subconscious anger at them. I know I was scared as I have a good friend living in that area who has several small children and I was terrified that something would happen to her, her children, or her husband.
The next day (Monday) at work one of the women who work up front came back and told us that the sniper had been captured. Maia and I stared at each other in disbelief, unable to quite credit what we were hearing. As it turned out, someone had spread the word prematurely... they hadn't been caught but the FBI had said that they felt that they were close to an arrest. Michael and I kept channeling energy into the cards, figuring that it couldn't hurt. By the end of the week the two men responsible had been taken into custody.
We might re-use this in the future if there is a call for it, but as of now I feel that this ritual is best retired. I don't think that it would be appropriate to re -use it any time soon. You might notice that part of this draws on standard ADF liturgy, no it wasn’t done intentionally. I had found a full moon ritual online and it seemed to fit with what I wanted to do with this ritual so I adapted it. I wasn’t studying with the ADF at that point, but it goes to show you that I must have had leanings that way for a while.
