Lunar Grove Group Talisman Ritual

Author: Eidolon Moon

Items needed: balance incense, wooden disks, paints, and paintbrushes.

Cast Circle if you wish.

Have E. or G. say:

“We embark upon this project with a modest prayer
That the outcome from this
Will be the best that is possible
In whatever circumstances
That will unfold
By the time of our project’s conclusion.
So mote it be!”

Everyone choose a wooden disk.

On one side of the talisman should have a symbol to represent the Lunar Grove –
a tall tree with a triple moon. (See below for some ideas.)

Decorate the other side as you please or you can leave it blank.

When everyone is done, each person should say one thing that they really enjoy
about the group.

Everyone should join hands.

“We are here to form a community
Let us form a community of love
In a world that seems torn by hatred
Let us live with peace in our hearts.”

“Let us form a community of spiritual health
In a world that is full of religions fueled by toxicity
Let us live our spirituality without fear
Let our group support Deity in all its forms.”

“Let us form a community of peace
In a world that is filled with rivalry and violence
Let us live in harmony with the world around us
Let our group be full of compassion for our fellow man.”

“Let us form a community of like-minded people
Who live in balance in an unbalanced world.
Let us learn from those with paths different from our own
That we all may radiate spiritual light.”

Everyone say together:

“May the God and Goddess
Bless this group
And the community we are trying to create!
So mote it be!”

Eidolon Moon's Notes:

I think that this is the first time that a ritual I've written was run by someone else. E. did say that I could 'be in charge', but since she and G. are the administrators I thought it best that they do the invocation and such. It was a unique experience, one that I'd like to repeat as it really seems to show the strengths and weaknesses in the ritual.

The Lunar Grove was still pretty small at this point, so all of us painting little medallions of wood didn't take too long. Strangely enough, without discussing it or being aware of what we were doing, we all chose the same tree/moon configuration for our talismans. On the back of mine I put my stylized fox symbol and a bunch of little spirals. I should probably take a picture of it and post on here. Look for that at a later date.

Overall, I believe that this was a rather effective little ritual. When E. ran it, she swapped the bits about "making a community" with making the talismans, but overall that enhanced the ritual and we certainly drew together as a group.

The balance incense I mention isn't a blend, it's a Japanese stick incense. The maker of it is Shoyeido and it's part of their Jewel Series. When I use stick incense I prefer the Japanese koh because the scent is lighter and there is not 'stick' or harsh chemicals in it. I think that the smoke that koh gives off is better smelling and it doesn't make my eyes water.
