Morgana's House Blessing

Items needed: an onion, Eucalyptus branches, twist ties, and breath mints

Cast Circle.

Group - join hands encircling the altar taking three deep breathes to cleanse and
center yourself. Release hands.

Take censer and cense around the Circle.

Invoke the Goddess with:

"Divine Mother, Goddess, Our Lady, Patron of Women, please join us at our Circle. Grant us your wisdom in our worship and daily lives. Let it be done."

Light the Goddess Candle.

Repeat censing.

Invoke the God with:

"Divine Father, God, Our Lord, Patron of Men, please join us at our Circle. Grant us your wisdom in our worship and daily lives. Let it be done."

Light the God candle.

Give everyone a strand of Eucalyptus.

Say:

"Great Mother keeper of the hearth and home, protector of all. We ask for you to purify this house. We ask for your blessing on this home. We ask you to bestow love, prosperity and good fortune on all who dwell in these walls."

Pour some holy water in the libation dish.

Say:

"So mote it be."

Say:

"Great Father, Keeper of the Forest, protector of all. We ask for you to purify this house. We ask for your blessing on this home. We ask you to bestow love, prosperity and good fortune on all who dwell with in these walls."

Pour more holy water in the libation dish.

Say:

"So mote it be."

Take onion and cut it into enough pieces for each person in the group plus and extra piece. Place a piece of onion in libation dish. Pass the rest of the onion to the members of the group. Everyone (sorry) eat the onion.

Say:

"We purify ourselves and ask that the house be cleansed of all negativity. We ask that all bad vibrations be removed, so that the Gods can bring Love, Peace, and Light."

Take the censer and cense in a pushing forward motion over the entire Circle,
symbolically removing negativity from the house.

Say:

"May the sacred smoke aid us in our task."

Everyone say:

"So mote it be."

Each member present lays their strand of Eucalyptus on the altar one at a time saying:

"I give my blessing and ask for the blessing of the gods."

After all the strands are on the altar, gather them together. Take a twisty tie or some twine and bind them together. Then say:

"As these strands are bound together our will is done! God and Goddess blessing!"

Bless and eat the Simple Feast.

Thank God and Goddess then close Circle.

Breath mints for everyone (sorry)!

Phaedra's Notes:

Morgana and her husband wrote this to bless the first house she and Ussal bought. We performed it in the attic and it was a very mystical experience. The whole night was just beautiful and the ritual went without a hitch. Even the onion wasn't too strong, just enough so that we knew we were eating one.

I personally prefer going through the whole house with smudging and anointing with oil or holy water... but this was for their home, not mine. Plus, it would have taken forever for Maia, Morgana, Ussal, Luame, and I all to trek through their house. It was a three story farm house, with lots of rooms and a large attic.

I have to admit, I don't remember the pupose of the onion... gomen! When completed the eucalyptus swag was hung over the main entrance in the kitchen to help spread the good vibes and the protection. Plus it smelled ~really~ good!

As you can probably tell, this was performed during the Cat's Moon group... the old deity invocations I left as we perfomed them instead of updating.
