The High Priestess is a card of intuition, instinct and hidden knowledge. She encompasses the word "esoteric".

The High Priestess does not seek to dissect. Instead she relies on synthesis, on the bringing together of opposites. She is duality in a singularity.

An emotional singularity which can suck you in and from which you may never escape.

She knows all your secrets, you can hide nothing from her. Yet you will never know the secrets she herself protects.

If well aspected in a Tarot spread, this card can indicate the use of intuition to solve problems; trust to your instincts. If badly aspected, it can mean suppression and ignoring of such instincts - following your head at the expense of your heart.

The High Priestess understands the Mona Lisa's smile.

I chose Missouri for the Priestess because there really aren’t any other mystic females in the show. Because she used her psychic powers to help John and to guide Sam and Dean I just felt she ‘clicked’ in this role. She certainly helps them to uncover important secrets that let them, ultimately, not only find their father but that will lead to the death of Azazel. Through Missouri the boys are given a chance to see their mother’s spirit and to hear her final apology.

In the card, I tried to mimic a traditional High Priestess symbol by placing the black tree and the white tree in the background like the two pillars. I included Sam in the image on purpose; I just liked the idea of including him here. There is never a point where Missouri comes straight out with answers for the boys, but her broad hints give more insight than the Winchesters usually receive from straight answers.
