Phaedra, you may be asking, what were you thinking with this? Don’t you know that you don’t have any training in Photoshop? Don’t you know that you have a hard time finishing artistic endeavours?

Yes, yes. I do know all of these things. However, you don’t understand the depth and level of obsession I have with this TV show. *laughs*

If you’ve never seen the show – what is wrong with you??? OK, OK… if you haven’t seen the show is about two brothers who travel across the US hunting and killing the things that go bump in the night. Their father uprooted them after their mother was killed by something that pinned her to the ceiling and burned down their house. Dean, the elder brother, was 4 years old. Sammy was 6 months old. Their father raised them like soldiers but Sam always wanted more, wanted a ‘normal’ life. A safe life.

The story picks up with Dean dragging Sam away from college to help find their father, who has disappeared while hunting. Sam is reluctant but eventually agrees. From there begins the wild ride of the brothers Winchester.

For the most part, I haven’t used traditional tarot imagery for the cards. I’ve pulled screen caps from various episodes and blended them together to try to convey the meaning of the card. There have been some lucky breaks (mainly with the Magician, the Hanged (Wo)man, and the High Priestess) where the show has given me some very tarot like images to work with.

This is a work in progress. I began it in November 2007; I’m hoping to have it finished in the next few months. I am doing all of the Major Arcana and, if inspired, I may continue and create a set of Minor Arcana as well. I really hope that you enjoy these cards! They’ve been a joy to create and I think that they would work rather well if used for divination.
