Tarot of the Cat People

This shows a small section of the cards, they are all highly detailed and stunning to look at. If I remember correctly, the artist said that she stippled much of the paintings with an old toothbrush to get the grainy effect for the cards. The artist is also the author of the book that goes along with the cards and she has created an entire race of people to populate the ideas behind the imagery of her tarot deck.

My most used and (shh...it’s a secret) favorite deck is this one. It happens to be my favorite for the simple reason that it was my first deck (I don't count the Rider-Waite that my Aunt gave me) and it doesn't mind bossing me around. It sounds silly but some of the readings I've done for myself were definitely rude in nature, if a tarot deck could give the finger... If you own cats then you'll understand when I say that this deck will act like a cat. It can be pissy with me one moment and in the next give me a wonderful reading without telling me to jump in a lake. I guess part of its appeal for me is that it goes through mood directional shifts at about the same rate that I do...
