Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot

I'm not a big fan of Aleister Crowley, but I do like the tarot deck that he developed. The pictures on these cards aren't what I would call pretty, but they do linger in the mind's eye. They are very dynamic and leave a lot up to the reader. I really enjoy this deck even though (perhaps because of this) it is very different from all the others that I own. The booklet with the deck also has a 15 card spread that I have found to be rather useful.

I think that the Thoth Deck was the second deck I purchased. The cards have bold colors and lots of lines and angles making it seem very harsh at times. However, I have found that it's the best deck to use if I need to cut decisively to the heart of a situation. It often offers insight that is buried or lacking in other decks. I am not a big follower of Crowley's work but this is my exception. I like the kabbalistic and astrological attributions that he ascribes to the cards, they seem to blend seamlessly into the other attributes of the tarot. This deck also gives a choice of several different Magician cards.
